The Colegio Bennett English Department hosted the grand competition of the 2023 School Spelling Bee. For more than a month, over 120 high school students learned TOEFL vocabulary terms through practice and in-class training to prepare them for the grand competition. A total of 16 students made it to the grand competition. These young people worked very hard on memorizing and spelling these advanced words. In a spelling bee, competitors must correctly pronounce a wide variety of words, typically with varying degrees of difficulty. Spelling bees encourage literacy by giving Bennett students a worthwhile objective to strive towards and a platform to showcase the results of their diligent labor. The English Department also wishes to thank our principal, vice-principal, our coordinators, maintenance, technology, teacher Elena for her artwork, our guest judges for making the spelling bee a great success and our student representatives.
